It's apparent that certain types of thinkers--hardcore Objectivist types, for instance--populate the blogosphere in disproportionate numbers, while classic conservatives like you are in shorter supply. I think the disembodied nature of the medium appeals particularly to those for whom identity is a product of abstract systems rather than social bonds. That's not to say, however, that the internet produces that type of intellectual...it just allows those who are predisposed to live inside their own heads to remain there.
