This should put to death the isolationist Obama golem. In the same way that Obama is for Christianity and abortion, Oprah and the common man, he is for groundbreaking talks with recalcitrant foreign leaders and groundbreaking incursions into their territory. Not that incursions into Pakistan might not someday become important or even necessary. But for Obama to announce this policy -- to the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars -- seems definite proof that, whatever the new new thing he brings to the table, isolationism it ain't.
